Inspired by summers at his grandmother’s northern California farm, Owner/Chef David Ruiz’s culinary foundation is anchored in the farm to table movement. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy, Chef Ruiz is an active proponent of and participant in food education and the connection between food and farming. He has worked in award winning restaurants in Aspen, San Jose, Yosemite and Albuquerque and considers the Bay Area’s Chef Scott Baumann and Albuquerque’s Boris Revilla valuable mentors at the intersection of culture, creativity, and consistency. Recognized for his technique, integrity, experience, and creativity, Chef Ruiz has been featured on Food Network’s Chopped (2016) and Guy Fieri’s Family Road Trip (2017). In 2018 he won the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Competition with his approach to the sustainable burger.
